Carlisle ‘07 Day 3 Final remarks
Although there was a bit more drama than we all cared for this year and for my first ever Corvettes @ Carlisle, it is over. Spent 12 hours in the DC / EVS Corvette on Sunday and again I’ll say, the most comfortable stock Corvette seat EVER!
I was able to see my past customer John Thompson’s Vintage Corvette too, glad he got it to the event from California!
While driving I had a lot of time to reflect on our Carlisle appearance… A pleasure seeing old friends and meeting new ones and after talking with a ton of folks at the Carlisle event, YOU do read what I am writing….

I enjoy communicating and appreciate your support, interest and business association, thank-you. I do hate it when an event is over, I enjoying being a part of this lifestyle so much…sometimes I don’t want to leave…

..was also thrilled my son was able to be with me. You have been watching Brandon grow up on the net with me since before he was 2, now he is growing taller than me and loves the Corvettes, all years. As I said the other, I could not count how many times he and I both said, “LOOK AT THAT CORVETTE, NO LOOK AT THAT ONE” I also stated the other day how pumped I am representing Corvette for you folks and Eric at EVS. This guy gets it, let’s face it, almost 12 years and it was my FIRST Carlisle now that I am aboard EVS, what does that tell you about the past and it’s not like I didn’t want to go
…I love getting out and meeting all of you, talking and sharing in your passions and experiences, happy to answer your questions on the spot and see your face light up with relief because all you need is proper info, an easy way to obtain it and a dealer you can trust….THAT’S US, thank-you for your business opportunities today and tomorrow, remember EVS-Random Lake specializes in nationwide Corvette sales.

It was great to be there part of the Digitalcorvettes tent,(thanks Patrick) the folks there have also been so supportive, it goes beyond appreciation to you folks on line, thank-you. I mentioned my son, I am thankful for his efforts in showing appreciation to you folks, we were passing out the only SOLE Ron Fellows White-C6-R Racer poster, our pride of Corvette and from Wisconsin, Brandon was shocked some folks were kind of rude and said no & blew him off to such a free item. That’s cool, I told him not to let it bother him. You can see he takes this serious too, I guess we are both big kids. We know not everyone is into posters and such, he was just excited to share.

The show the day after the tornado just did not have the same feel, many vendors that knew were in the night before cleaning up what they could and headed out, but being the majority of the show was OK, it was great to see the effort by EVERYONE to continue on…but you could tell something was missing…the lots were not full, caution tape everywhere, twisted tents and even a Corvette postcard all wet and stuck to the concrete..OH wait, that was mine, some 1500 feet away from where we were!
But the show went on even in the heat, now I don’t mean to be disgusting, but Saturday the heat index was well over 100 and it just beat us up…I drank 4 waters and a big strawberry smoothie and never had to use the bathroom, our bodies were just absorbing the liquids. There was a guy that went down in front of our car with a bad cramp and I felt bad for him, he neded water, he worked it out and moved on. I was not able to attend Sunday and see the car show winners so I apologize for not getting that for you, or the winner of the Corvette, that info by now is bouncing all over the net, we’ll try to snag it & share it here later for you.
I am so glad I was at this event despite the hot weather, it really was a thrill to talk with so many of you and see the incredible display of Corvettes from all years. I loved the 50 years of 1957 Corvette display and the unique mods and customizations you folks do are impressive, you have thought of things I never knew you could do to a Corvette and it was great to see.
I was also able to share in another story closer to our current model Corvette, full details later in a new posting, but the guy standing next to the 2006 Indy Z06 Pace car is the owner…yep, one of 3 made and he got one…..stay tuned. You may remember my spoof a couple years back when I proclaimed to be the Indy 500 Pace Car driver, one of the best April fools jokes out there, I had story , the driver, a picture in the car before anyone else had posted or even announced and the story grew legs fast….to see this car and hear it’s story I was thrilled, OK better said, yes I have a hard-on for Pace Car Corvettes…..was I jealous about the 06 Z Pacer? damn straight
So watch for this story and even a flash back to my April’s fools joke along with pictures of the freakin’ sweet Pacer..one thing, this actual car was used in the first testing of the the Corvette SS before becoming a Z06 Pace Car for INDY.
Overall a great event I enjoyed and learned from…can’t believe what I was missing for years, I can’t wait until next year. EVS is so much a part of the National Corvette community, thank-you for allowing us to share in the lifestyle, we even got compliments from other dealers on how we represent and inform everyone, very cool, thanks Steve
again any and all feedback we appreciate, I have been delivering dreams for over a decade and no plans on stopping now…..
rwarding yourself with Corvette is something everyone shoudl do. I walked by a lot of booths and heard a few times, people talking about the classics, but wanting to step up to the user friendliness of a new or newer Corvette, just because of what yo can do it. YEP! I AGREE, I had the 2007 coupe PACKED and heading back to Wisconsin tracking it closely, I am obtaining 28.3 miles per gallon….keep it user friendly & fun Chevy!!!

I’m sure I’ll think of other things to share, I’ll be back in Wisconsin late this afternoon and plan on catching up on emails and fun business stuff as EVS moves forward and puts our foot on the gas for retail sales. My show special will continue for a short while, stay tuned for details. Thank everyone for all of your kind feedback & support over the years, you have no idea how much it means to me, it’s even more now that I share my passion in the form of retail too with EVS, many of you said to me, “hey Rick, great move to EVS”..yes it was, yes it was. Time to make some history folks. This car and YOU deserve exclusive representation you can count on….( I feel like the Vinnie B in Welcome back Kotter) I got my hand in the air…OOOO OOOOOOOHHOOOOO!
Thanks for being here and I can’t tell you how wonderful it was to meet many of you in person that we broadcast to and communicate with over the net on a daily basis….worth the trip alone!

Hey Rick thanks for sharing the experience. Looks like Brandon was missing his side kick Matthew. Maybe next year you talk Shane into a short vacation and take him along. One question,. what the heck is up with you and the weather? Seems to be following you around the country. lol I’m keeping an eye on you. This continues and you’re going to get yourself banned from all furture events. Again thanks for sharing the experience. We always enjoy reading about your adventures and the great pics.
