BASH ‘09 UPDATE-Jersey Boys On Location!

bash-jboys.jpgWe welcome comments, emails, pictures from all of you.

Our friends the Jersey Boys offered right away to share on their trip to Bowling Green this year because Greg and I were unable to go. here is their first report, many more to come and we thank-you all for helping inform the internet fans how it’s going at this years bash.

“Morning Rick,

Our first day of Bash events consisted of leaving NJ at 2AM in the morning and driving for 13 hours which allowed us to arrive in Bowling Green around 3 in the afternoon. We proceeded to the new museum. WOW ! That was the only way we can describe the new addition to our favorite place. The architects did an outstanding job of designing the new addition.

We immediately registered and was imformed that almost 1000 people had registered for the event. There were not a lot of people or cars there as most of the early arrivals were on a road rally. As soon as we completed the registration, we located the Jersey Boys brink….it is located directly in front of the new museum store - you can’t miss it.

We then found some long time museum friends and were welcomed. We were also invited to join the museum team for dinner later that day at the Montana Grill which was located within walking distance from our hotel (Holiday Inn).

We left the museum and drove over to our hotel, check in and drove the Vettes around the back and gave them a bath…..they needed one after that long ride. A little C-Magic detailer and the cars looked like new again.

Dinner was a lot of fun. There must have been 24 invited guests and we were lucky enough to sit with Roc Linkov, the Events Manager. bash-boys3.jpgHe had some great stories to share with us and was able to provide details about all the coming events planned this year. Every event we discussed can be found on the museum webpages with details. So it wasn’t like we were prived to any secret information. Roc had a lot of funny stories, but we concentrated on the race track event that is planned for the new track in NJ in late July. Since that is our home state, and only about an hours drive from our location, we will definitely put that on our calendar.

Today we are off to the museum and a plant tour. We will get into some serious picture taking and video wherever and whenever we can and get those to you. Tonight we are meeting friends from the Jersey Corvette Club that we have know for almost 40 years that relocated to other parts of the country. bash-boys2.jpg We are really looking forward to that. As the current president of the club and with Mike being a past president, tonight has some special meanings for us to get “Old Corvette Pals” together after all these years….and what better place than the home of the Corvette on Bash weekend 2009.
