It always starts out as nothing…or something fun, yep until someone gets hurt. NAHHHH.
One day last week when I was dressed for snow removal, in my Packers sweatshirt..I get a funny email from Skip in NJ, a HUGE Giants fan mind you…
Now this day I am wearing the Packers sweatshirt was also my birthday, so very cool, Skip emails me a happy birthday wish and then takes a jab at the Packers (yuk yuk) on and on. Skip also makes a mention of how he has been watching me on line and appreciates the enthusiasm , information and fun we have representing Corvette. (THANKS!)
He also mentions how he has had a lot of Vettes in the past and just maybe, I’ll have an opportunity to earn his business on the next one…maybe.
Skip goes on and says, IF I send you a New York Giants sweatshirt and you wear it on your website, I’ll call you about my next Corvette or something like that….he knows how loyal Green Bay Packers fans are, so I joke back and said..”skip it would PAIN me to do so, but you send it and I’ll wear it!”
Wow, I should watch what comes out of my mouth…he emails back what size…I type back slowly, XL….he say “DONE DEAL, IT’S ON IT’S WAY!” Yikes, forget deer hunting season, I get caught wearing a Giants sweatshirt in Green Bay country, I’ll be shot and mounted above someone’s mantel…
Well guess what came in the mail today…..how nice, just before the super bowl and all, a New York Giants sweatshirt from Skip in NJ. Now the guys tell me, I have to put it on…I start to rethink this deal , knowing what could come of it….
OH boy Skip has got me up against the ropes now….he knows I want to be his Corvette rep on the next one, but this is going to hurt…I can’t believe this is for real….
I’m still thinking and then Shane says “you’re wearing this…NOW” Oh nooooo, hang on a second, the Wisconsin folks have been very good to me.
I kept fighting him off, thinking Packers, Packers, Packers…..all the way, I really was…
OH MY….WHAT JUST HAPPENED?!?!?!?!??!
Then Shane and Chris said come on out back Rick, don’t worry about the sweatshirt, the Packers fans have something for you. They understand you did not want to hurt anyone’s feelings by wearing a New York Giants sweatshirt IN Wisconsin…no problem, come on out here they say….
OH NOOOO, I’m toast…or I’m going to need toast…..what the?!?!?!??!

WOW, after all that, I know it’s funny to find ME a loss for words..but what CAN you say…..Skip you’re alright man…Green Bay fans so are you! Whatever it takes…right folks….I love to have fun,THUMBS UP!

Now THAT, is funny Rick - what can I say, you da man!!! Hey, you gave a good fight but he IS the boss ya know. Packer fans can’t blame you for that. I suppose I shouldn’t mention I moved to Wisconsin from Massachusetts - can you say PATRIOTS!!
