Five drivers and a legendary American sports car will join the prestigious Sebring Hall of Fame in 2012………….

Hans Herrmann, Geoff Brabham, Denise McCluggage, Johnny O’Connell, Jim Downing and Chevrolet’s Corvette will be inducted at ceremonies on March 16th, the day before the 60th Anniversary Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Fueled by Fresh from Florida. (more…)

General Motors has celebrated a major milestone today at Wixom’s Performance Build Center by building its 100-millionth small block engine.
The engine chosen as the milestone motor is none other than the Corvette ZR1′s 638 horsepower LS9.

The Museum is seeking heart-warming, interesting, bizarre, funny or inspiring stories about Corvette owners and their Corvettes for the Jan/Feb 2012 issue of America’s Sports Car.

An example would be the story of display car owner Chance Mayfield who had his ‘Vette stolen in 1970, only to have it recovered by the police 40 years later, fully restored and in mint condition.

A limited number of stories will be printed. Please submit 500 words or less and up to three high quality photos by Wednesday, December 7 to editor@corvettemuseum.org

“A Chevrolet dealer, Laughlin’s pursuit for Scaglietti was initiated when high repair costs for his Ferrari race car committed him to look at the Chevrolet Corvette as the basis for performance.”

This past Sunday, Italy’s most prestigious sports car builder Ferrari lost a close, early ally pivotal for sculpting some first defining vehicles. At the age of 91, Sergio Scaglietti passed away after more than 30 year of direct Ferrari contributions. A skilled coachbuilder, Scaglietti brought forth the elegant, lightweight sports car form that has made Ferraris identifiable as an exotic car. (more…)
