REGARDING THE FAMED AND POWERFUL Z06 CORVETTE.. Some vehicle names become legendary, but one of the longest standing and most revered is a confusing mystery to most people;Z06

It’s easy enough to figure out the BMW’s go-fast M models are named for the Bavarian company’s Motorsport group, that Chevrolet’s SS performance badge stands for “super sport” and Chrysler’s SRT cars promise “street and racing technology.”

The Corvette Z06 has been around longer than any of those, but few actually know its origin and what it stands for.

Strange 2009 Order & More…..

I finished ordering our 1st batch of 2009’s… .wow we have some great combos coming for you folks.

That is another fun part of my job, besides seeing your dreams come true, you enjoying your success….
I get to pick a lot of the options and color combos many of you will be driving.

Indy 2008 Weekend Blast!

A big thanks to my friend Mike Brawley who sent me that cool INDY 500 Collector Pin recently. Well, of course not being able to go to INDY myself this weekend, Mike had to send pics of what a great time and he some friends are having!

This is an exciting time for racing and for Corvette, as this year we honor the very 1st Corvette Pace car 30 years later with yet another replica and people love it. Mike thanks for the pictures, you guys look like you are having a blast

Corvette Museum Raceway?!?!

via the Bowling Green Daily News:

The National Corvette Museum has brought a lot to Bowling Green and through the years it continues to draw crowds for special events, as well as large numbers of Corvette enthusiasts.

The museum, which has a $10 million expansion under way, recently purchased 70 acres off Grimes Lane, near Porter Pike, that will be the site of a Motorplex Park.

Proud Dad has to share!

As I have mentioned before, my oldest son is playing baseball and doing well this year. In fact we have a great team…all the kids play hard, work hard and yep, there is some talent there too.

Recently the Port Washington team won the entire Ozaukee County Tournament and that is so cool. I miss coaching, but what a thrill to see some REAL teamwork come together. Nice job by all, coaches and kids - Congratulations! continue for another team shot

The Building of the “Original” Corvettes…

ALSO IN THIS ARTICLE THE GUY THAT NAMED CORVETTE
Yes Corvette was named after a ship, The Smaller Ships Were Vital in World War Two
During the Battle of the Atlantic, Canadian shipyards built at least 124 Corvettes for coast patrol and convoy escort. Called Flower Class, Corvettes were British design.

The British and Canadians found the enemy in WW2 was not only in the air, on the ground, and on the ocean surface. The enemy was also skulking deep in the seas, waiting to sink warships and merchant ships with a volley of torpedoes. The Germans were determined to gain ocean supremacy, to squash the supply route to starve out the British. Their plan was well into action when the Canadians were dragged into battle with the sinking of the SS Athenia on September 3, 1939. The Battle of the Atlantic was on, and Canada urgently needed more ships. (more…)

‘08 Indy 500 Pace Coupe in Stock!

As Many of you know we attended the INDY 500 Press announcement last December. We were excited to hear about a Pace Coupe replica version to go with the Convertible to honor the 30th Anniversary of the very 1st Indy 500 Corvette Pace car in 1978.

Today, our 1st Coupe arrives….( sorry Duke in WI and Carol in IN it was not yours~Lou in FL congratulations I know you got your Convertible at the Museum Monday!)
