Michelin North America’s C3M facility is producing new-technology run-flat tires that will be original equipment on the 2009 Corvette ZR1, according to a Michelin spokeswoman.

It will be the first time Greenville-based Michelin has supplied original equipment to Corvette sports cars, said Jan Skinner, Michelin North America vice president, global sales, passenger car and light truck tires, original equipment.

Another week of football for you folks. I know, it’s been so busy and the holidays on top of all this has made it hard to keep up …I even forgot there was a game Thursday and missed that in my picks this week and I would have won that one too.

We have the technology inside General Motors to do a car that can go up against any supercar from around the world,” he continues, punctuating the thought with this threat: “I can’t wait to take on any Porsche with this car, and we’re going to be right in there with the Ferrari 599s and Lamborghini Murcilagos.” Whoa, ease off the Red Bull, Tom. This is a just a souped-up C6 Corvette, right? Or did you slip a mid-engine V-12 in without the blogosphere noticing?

Sorry folks with all the excitement surrounding the ZR1 release, we did not post Weekly order constraints yesterday. The good news for those waiting for their orders to be pulled and sent to production control. No constraints again this week on ANY Corvette. With the holiday schedule, this will be the last cycle of cars sent to production control , but we will continue to take orders as now the spring market is upon us. ORDERS PULLED THIS WEEK will arrive early February!

Could this be the END of Corvette years down the road. Corvette chief engineer comments in this article! With the new energy bill, could this be our last shot at horse power wars. Wow, I’d hate to see the battle being “our car gets 38 MPH“..”no our car rates 37MPHand it’s quieter than yours”

PLEASE NOTE: it’s not out yet, it’s done sitting there and waiting, waiting for market feedback; look for an AUTOMATIC very possibly in this car within a year, unless people flat out and say no!

GM certainly wants to dominate the magazine covers next month, exactly why we are seeing this information now. ENJOY EVERYONE…can you imagine what the car will look like in PERSON, whew. EVS will be covering the Detroit event next month for you right here on corvetteconti.com.
