#427 Cooksey Z06 for $200,000!
Monday, January 25th, 2010
I had always wondered where that car was. #427 out of the 427 made for the U.S. This was a special edition and in my opinion the nicest one yet by GM as a Z06 editon.
It really was named the Cooksey edition in the Corvette Community, as it was for Wil Cooksey now retired plant manager’s last hoorah. Amazing and sweet he was able to pull ahead the 2009 wheel, the interior and more on this car…he was the plant manager.
Now we are mentioning this car and thumbs up to GM for auctioning the car off for the Red Cross and their efforts for the earthquake victims in Haiti.
This car raised $200,000 for the cause, nice job! Someone got a very special car and money well spent given the circumstances. The closest #’d car we had here at EVS was #423. ALL proceeds went to the Red Cross!

You have heard about this one, even seen a truckload and before you email pictures and think you have a spy shot of “something” Lets not start another Winding Road magazine hoax…no big secret any longer. Sorry that many folks were waiting on retail Corvette deliveries as GM rolls out 500 special edition Corvettes for the Hertz rental fleet.
