I had always wondered where that car was. #427 out of the 427 made for the U.S. This was a special edition and in my opinion the nicest one yet by GM as a Z06 editon.

It really was named the Cooksey edition in the Corvette Community, as it was for Wil Cooksey now retired plant manager’s last hoorah. Amazing and sweet he was able to pull ahead the 2009 wheel, the interior and more on this car…he was the plant manager.

Now we are mentioning this car and thumbs up to GM for auctioning the car off for the Red Cross and their efforts for the earthquake victims in Haiti.

This car raised $200,000 for the cause, nice job! Someone got a very special car and money well spent given the circumstances. The closest #’d car we had here at EVS was #423. ALL proceeds went to the Red Cross!

A big thanks to my friend Mike Brawley who sent me that cool INDY 500 Collector Pin recently. Well, of course not being able to go to INDY myself this weekend, Mike had to send pics of what a great time and he some friends are having!

This is an exciting time for racing and for Corvette, as this year we honor the very 1st Corvette Pace car 30 years later with yet another replica and people love it. Mike thanks for the pictures, you guys look like you are having a blast

As I have mentioned before, my oldest son is playing baseball and doing well this year. In fact we have a great team…all the kids play hard, work hard and yep, there is some talent there too.

Recently the Port Washington team won the entire Ozaukee County Tournament and that is so cool. I miss coaching, but what a thrill to see some REAL teamwork come together. Nice job by all, coaches and kids - Congratulations! continue for another team shot

As Many of you know we attended the INDY 500 Press announcement last December. We were excited to hear about a Pace Coupe replica version to go with the Convertible to honor the 30th Anniversary of the very 1st Indy 500 Corvette Pace car in 1978.

I spent last weekend at Indy for practice and pole qualifying and thought you might like these pictures. The track car they used was a coupe, and they drove all of the festival princesses around the track in convertibles. Must have seen at least 40 of the festival cars. The actual pace car, the E85 ZO6, was in the garage next to the pagoda. Steve Bell Hartland, WI”
